Ubuntu 18.04 no video output from Laptop Docking Station!!

If you are using Kernel version 4.15.0-44 on a laptop in a docking station and suddenly find that the display output isn’t working after log in you might be affected by this bug.

The bug was reported on the 28th of January and by the 29th of January a fix was available for testing. We should have the fix (new Kernel package) available to us via the Ubuntu repos very soon – but until then the simplest thing to do is to boot into the previous kernel version 4.15.0-43.

When 4.15.0-45 is released it should be safe to update.
